October 21-25, 2019 School Bus Safety Week (Third full week of October) Tennessee School Bus Driver Appreciation Week WHEREAS, The third full week of October has been declared National School Bus Safety Week; WHEREAS, It is fitting that the citizens of Tennessee be aware that more than 440,000 yellow school buses transport 24 million students daily to and from school and school-related activities; and WHEREAS, School buses provide the safest form of transportation for our nation’s children to travel to and from school and related events; and WHEREAS, We recognize the hard work and dedication of the many Tennessee school bus drivers that ensure a safe journey each and every day; and WHEREAS, School bus travel has been deemed the safest way to get to and from school based largely on the dedication and experience of these special individuals; NOW, THEREFORE, The Tennessee General Assembly do hereby proclaim The Third Week of each October, as Tennessee School Bus Driver Appreciation Week, and do commend this observance to all of our citizens.

Bus Pay

The safety of our students is a constant concern of the Robertson County Schools Pupil Transportation Department.  Transporting your child to and from school is a job we take very seriously.  Our goal is to provide safe, efficient and timely service to your child.  Buses are maintained and inspected by trained mechanical technicians in order to prevent hazards.  Personnel employed as professional school bus drivers undergo continuous instruction and training concerning the safe operation of a school bus.  Robertson County Schools Pupil Transportation Department strives to maintain the highest standards in school bus safety.

PURSUANT TO STATE LAW ALL REPORTS OF UNSAFE OPERATION OF A SCHOOL BUS SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE LOCAL LEA BY CALLING 615-382-4680.

Every School Bus Driver is required under STATE LAW to hold every pupil strictly accountable for any disorderly conduct on any school bus going to or returning from school or a school activity.
